who is behind

the imagination exchange

Originally from Greece, I spent 5 years living in Ghana with my family. Life in West Africa was very different from anything I had been accustomed to. Yet, the people that I met there, and all that I learned and experienced, contributed to who I am today and how I see the world. During our stay in Ghana, I regularly volunteered at different organizations either through my school or privately. I had the opportunity to meet and befriend many local children, visit their homes and communities, and exchange stories.

My life in Ghana instilled in me a deep understanding of the power of kindness, the importance of respect, and the honor, that is to be allowed to provide service to others. It was also eye opening in terms of how scarce medical care can be in underprivileged communities, how nothing should be taken for granted, and lastly how life seems to have different value in different places in the world.

I decided to create The Imagination Exchange, to support children who have dreams, but lack the means to make them happen on their own, and to create opportunities where there may be few.

I also hope to inspire my peers to look inwards and beyond; to connect with people, worlds and realities that may be far from our own, but still just as significant, and to instill a sense of the power of common endeavour; together we can achieve things, small goals can go a long way, bigger goals are reached through commitment and perseverance.

I do receive a lot of help and support from friends and family, and for that I am very grateful. This is a group effort, so Thank you to all who have supported this idea, and to you for visiting The Imagination Exchange, and for helping us do what we set out to do.
